AARON "PINETOP" SPARKS & MARION " LINDBERG " SPARKS

   AARON PINETOP SPARKS y MARION LINDBERG SPARKS eran dos hermanos gemelos nacidos en TUPELO, Mississippi, el dia 22 de Mayo de 1910, en donde permanecieron hasta 1920 que se trasladaron junto a sus padres Ruth y Sullie Gant a St. LOUIS, más tarde ambos cogerían el apellido del segundo marido de Ruth , Carl SPARKS . Aaron era un pequeño niño prodigio que aprendió a tocar el blues de un anciano vendedor de whisky llamado Arthur Johnson que le enseño a tocar en la trastienda de su local , mas tarde continuó sus estudios musicales en la escuela , que le sirvió para ir tocando en bares clandestinos y barrelhouses .

Los hermanos SPARKS eran idénticos , muy altos , mientras Aaron era conocido por su carácter dócil y tranquilo Marion era todo lo contrario, inquieto y de temperamento caliente, a menudo se veía inmerso en peleas a puñetazo limpio, hasta el punto de que fué arrestado por la polícia en más de cincuenta ocasiones. Más tarde Marion cambiaría su nombre por el de Milton . Vicisitudes de su vida aparte, se les debe reconocer gran mérito sobre todo por ser Aaron el compositor de temas como EVERY DAY I HAVE THE BLUES., ( más tarde se lo agenciaría Pete Chatman/ Memphis Slim ) ó 61 Highway Blues, por lo general asociada a Mississippi Fred McDowell, como podréis observar en el audio de más abajo influyeron sobremanera en el tema mas tarde llamado Dust My Broom ,. asociado a Elmore James entre otros, el cual sin duda bebió de una primera versión I'belive I'll make a change. Nos mueve presentaros este singular dúo ( sin duda merecedor de un capitulo mucho mas amplio ) por sus inicios dentro del piano Boogie-Woogie, influenciaron sin duda a Pinetop Smith en su popular tema Pinetop's Boogie. Oiréis sus inicios , que luego fueron derivando hacia cauces más blueseros. AARON fué también como no, pionero en los apodos PINETOP que luego proliferaron, él sería uno de los primeros si no el primero debido a su altura y a su clase y forma de tocar evidentemente, por cuanto al de su hermano Marion ó Milton , " Lindberg" se cree fué debido a la facilidad que tenía para bailar y contorsionarse al ritmo de por aquellos entonces denominado Lindy Hop.

"Every Day I Have the Blues" is a blues song that has been performed in a variety of styles. An early version of the song is attributed to Pinetop Sparks and his brother Milton] or Marion. It was first performed in the taverns of St. Louis by the Sparks brothers and was recorded July 28, 1935 by Pinetop with Henry Townsend on guitar. The song is a twelve-bar blues that features Pinetop's piano and falsetto vocal. The opening verse includes the line "Every day, every day I have the blues".

After a reworking of the song by Memphis Slim in 1949, it became a blues standard with renditions recorded by numerous artists.Four different versions of "Every Day I Have the Blues" have reached the Top Ten of the Billboard R&B chart and two—one by the Count Basie Orchestra with Joe Williams and one by B.B. King—have received Grammy Hall of Fame Awards
