"This album is a pure wonder. Ari, Igor, Yuri, Rodrigo, Denilson, Gordon and Junior worked out the perfect album every jump-blues lover should have dreamed for since years. That's the most to celebrate this music I've been enjoying since many years. One hour of high flight, rich of bright swingin' boppin' sounds that took its roots in the great African-American musical heritage from the 40's and 50's. Really a feast for your ears if you ain't square. A fabulous trip back to the heart and soul of swingin' roots stacked with a lot of virtuosities. From the guitar sharp solos to the unbridled boogie-woogie piano solos and the honkin' saxophones that's a dammit treat! A record that got the power to heal you, never fear ... Even the deaf will begin to hear."

"It's rare these days to find great musicians exploring some of the lesser-known styles of American Blues music and coming up with dynamite new recordings, but far from the beaten path both musically and geographically, pianist Ari Borger, guitarist Igor Prado and their band are doing just that. Although they're from Sao Paulo, Brazil, they've become a strong presence on the international scene through their recordings and live appearances all over the globe and now they've come together in the studio to pay tribute to some of the music and that inspired them.
Recording directly to tape to capture real music without the processing that characterizes most modern recordings, Ari, Igor and the band channel their influences and build upon this foundation. Ari's piano reflects the driving boogie of Pete Johnson and Jimmy Yancey, the lowdown blues of Memphis Slim, the class of Lloyd Glenn and the swinging sophistication of Jay McShann. Igor finds inspiration in lesser known guitar masters like Calvin Newborn, Tiny Webb and Teddy Bunn, while also displaying the lessons he learned from the records of Bill Jennings, Tiny Grimes, Johnny Watson, and even one of the modern masters - Junior Watson, who brings his own unique style and humor to a few tracks here.
The rhythm section of bassist Rodrigo Mantovani and drummer Yuri Prado swing, rock and groove with the same amazing ability to capture authentic style yet create something new, and saxist Denilson Martins, always a pleasure for me to work with (and I get to on 2 tracks here!) is always ready to provide the kind of wild and fun R&B sax that I love.
I hope you dig this music as much as I do!"
