Video/Movie Clip recorded at the 2013 Marlborough Jazz Festival, in the small Market Town of Marlborough, Wiltshire in July 2013.

"Down the Road Apiece" is one of my favourite Boogie Numbers, and it can be played in many ways. Mike Sanchez and many of the younger guys tend to 'rock it up' - which is great - but every now and again I hear a much more mellow 'swing' version ... and I really like that too!

More information from the Festival Website : Chris Barber with the Bob Hall Trio ...

"Celebrating his 64th year in showbiz, Chris Barber first formed a band in 1953, together with Monty Sunshine, Ken Colyer and Lonnie Donegan. In 1959 the band's version of Sidney Bechet's Petite Fleur spent 24 weeks in the UK Singles Charts, making it to No. 3 and selling over a million copies. It was awarded a gold disc and reached number five in the US charts. Barber was mainly responsible for arranging the first UK tours of blues artists Big Bill Broonzy, Sonny Terry and Muddy Waters Twice voted Instrumentalist of the Year at the annual British Blues Festival, Bob Hall has worked with such famed artists as John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, Alexis Korner, Mike Fleetwood, Charlie Watts and Paul Jones. Hilary Bligh adds bass guitar and vocals with Dave Peabody on guitar".
