MIKE PETRONE



Mike Petrone is a pianist, singer/songwriter, composer, arranger and bandleader with a career spanning more than 30 years. He currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio where he can be seen performing on a near nightly basis.
He has worked in the professional theatre as a musical director and has authored several musicals and scores. He has performed with The Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall and at Blossom Music Center where he worked with conductor, Leonard Slatkin and soprano, Kathleen Battle. He has worked with Broadway legend, Jim Dale on the musical “The Invisible Man”and Motown’s “The Funk Brothers” at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Mike’s groups have opened for acts such as; Ray Charles, The Temptations, Willie Nelson, and Gloria Estefan. In 2001 his original musical “Full Moon” premiered at Cleveland State University with Frank Dunlop of The British National Theatre directing. He has also composed several motion picture soundtracks, most recently his 2005 scores for the independent features “Hard Pill” and

The Mike Petrone Trio his jazz piano trio has received acclaim throughout the world for their many recordings. They have performed together at New York’s famed clubs, Sardi’s, Club 21, and Tavern on the Green as well as Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Mike is also active as a producer and publisher having co- founded Goblin Bee Records and Plan “C” Publishing.
Civically active as well, Mike’s 30th anniversary concert raised nearly seventy-five thousand dollars for the Cleveland School of the Arts. He has also been a mentor for The Cleveland Foundations Civic Innovation Lab, and a member of the COSE Arts Network Advisory Board. In 2005 Cleveland Mayor Jane Campbell honored him with a proclamation for his twenty-five years contributing to the arts in Cleveland and in 2009 Mike was selected to be a part of Leadership Cleveland, the first full-time musician in the organizations 30-year history!
