BIG YUYU at EUROPEAN BLUES CHALLENGE !

Big Yuyu was formed in 2006 in Mallorca, one of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean. Mallorca is not only known for its tourist appeal, wich blossomed in the 60's but also beacuse of its vibrant live music scene, where the Blues plays a big role. Since their inception, the band is proud to say that it's got more than 3000 hot Blues nights under its belt, having played in the best clubs and festivals around Spain and also touring Germany, Holland, UK and Switzerland.

This is a band made up by musicians who love what they do every night, making music with soul and passion.

The rock-solid rhythm section formed by Esteve Huguet on drums and Juan Amaro on bass suports Jordi Alvarez's unique guitar and vocal skills, filling the air with reminiscenses of the Blues legends, but always with that personal touch that should give Big Yuyu a hard-earned spot in the European Blues Scene.

The band's fourth studio album "Soulify Girl (Rock CD 2017) is a new trip back to the roots, however this time with a great wealth of experience acquired on the road, resulting on a sound unlike other bands, unique, personal, powerful...all showcased in a live show that will thrill everyone, and that's been elected as one of the best albums in Balearic Islands 2018 and will bring Big Yuyu to represent Spain in the European Blues Challenge 2019.

Big Yuyu se formó en 2006 en Mallorca, uno de los lugares más bonitos del Mediterráneo, no sólo conocido por ser uno de los principales destinos turísticos del planeta desde los años 60 sino también por su vibrante escena musical, dónde el Blues juega un papel importante. Desde su creación, la banda puede decir con orgullo que lleva más de 3000 noches sudorosas de Blues marcadas en sus correas, habiendo actuado en los principales clubes y festivales del país y realizando giras por Alemania, Holanda, Gran Bretaña y Suiza. Esta es una banda hecha por músicos que aman lo que hacen noche tras noche, tocar música con alma y pasión.

La sólida sección rítmica formada por Esteve Huguet a la batería y Juan Amaro al bajo empuja las habilidades de Jordi Alvarez a la voz y guitarra, llenando el aire de reminiscencias de las viejas leyendas del Blues pero a su vez con ese toque personal que debería llevar a Big Yuyu al lugar que merece en la escena del Blues europeo.

El cuarto álbum de estudio de la banda "Soulify Girl (Rock CD 2017) es un nuevo viaje atrás a sus raíces, a su vez con la madurez adquirida en la carretera, resultando en un sonido único, personal, poderoso, preparado para un directo que emociona y que ha sido elegido cómo uno de los mejores álbumes de las Baleares 2018 y que llevará a Big Yuyu a representar a España en el próximo European Blues Challenge 2019.
