Wayne Buttery
From the mid to late 1960s, Wayne performed with a number of local bands at high school dances, parties, etc. It wasn't until early 1970 when Wayne became one of the founding members of the popular Toronto based nostalgia show band, BANANAS. Later in the mid 1980's he went on to perform with MIDDLE AGED CRAZYS and in 1989 founded "The Bluenotes". In 1991 Wayne moved to Central Ontario's, Orr Lake community near the town of Elmvale where he often performs solo in local venues and resorts.

Wayne Buttery with Rita Johns

In 1981 Rita became a JUNO nominee in the "Most Promising Vocalist" category and in 1985 she was nominated for a CASBY AWARD for "Best New Artist". Soon thereafter Rita recorded the Danny McBride composition, "She's In Love With Her Radio" which was produced by Jack Richardson and later recorded by Sheena Easton. HINKEL/BUTTERY PROJECT

Charlie Hinkel, Wayne Buttery and Gabor Szepesi are back together once again. This time with drummer
Lorne Pinkney and guitarist Joe Huron. Lorne hails from Midland, Ontario and has been traveling the
globe as a drummer for hire having toured with the Good Brothers and several tribute bands. Joe is
based out of Barrie, Ontario. Joe’s jazz approach offers an interesting contrast to Wayne’s more
traditional blues and bottleneck guitar style. Together, the Hinkel/Buttery Project offer elements of
funk, blues, jazz, rock and R&B. Their song list consists of a blend, featuring their own signature
arrangements of covers and originals.
