SHANDA & THE HOWLERS
Shanda & The Howlers is a 60s-style rhythm & blues revivalist band out of Las Vegas NV. The group of five musicians solidified their line up in early 2015 and began writing songs immediately before performing their first show in the spring on that year.
Influences in their sound can be traced to such artists as Big Maybelle, Ruth Brown, Otis Redding, The Crystals, The Marvelettes, Gino Parks, LaVern Baker, and James Brown.
In the bands short history, they have opened for such legendary acts as The Blasters, Reverend Horton Heat, Los Lobos, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Save Ferris, The 5.6.7.8's and Wanda Jackson. They've performed at festivals and live music venues in multiple states including the massive Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend.
Their debut album Trouble was released May 20, 2017 on Rum Bar Records and has received positive reviews as well as radio play around the world, including numerous plays on Little Steven's Underground Garage. The band released their second full length on WILD records in spring of 2018, which is also receiving international airplay. Currently the band is working on songs for their third album, performing shows and gearing up for The Nashville Boogie Festival in the spring with The B-52's, Ronnie Spector and other artists. The band is also booked at The Rhythm Riot festival in Sussex, England in the fall of 2019 and looks forward to their first trip overseas!
