THE FRED PALA BAND

BIO:

The band’s history began not only with love for the Blues, Rock & Roll, and the joy of surfing those sound waves but with the desire to keep that culture

alive while approaching it in a fresh way.

With freedom of expression and improvisation, the trio presents to the world a unique style for lovers of bands such as Cream, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and Deep Purple. Without only repeating these legendary names, the band’s original style shows that they can walk on their own path, lightening up the way for "aficionados" of the genre.

With Fred Pala leading on wild guitar and howlin’ vocals, the veteran experience of bassist George Smith, and Jon Steele’s solid and groovy rhythmic work, The Fred Pala Band are delighted to introduce their first E.P. together, after many years on the road with other bands.

Fred Pala, from Sao Paulo – Brazil, has travelled more than 200,000 miles around his country with his band Centro da Terra Power Trio, playing at big festivals and renowned bars and venues, frequently on the same bill as acts such as SteppenWolf, Ian Anderson, Gong, and Brazilian artists Os Mutantes and Alceu Valença.

The Fred Pala style is a unique mix of funky blues-rock featuring dazzling solos with dirty vocals.

Extremely passionate for old vibe sounds, he put The Fred Pala Band together in 2019 jamming around London Town.

George Smith accomplished bassist with grand status on the London blues-rock scene since the sixties, takes his cues from the likes of Jack Bruce, Andy Fraser, and Colin Hodgkinson, and has performed on stage with some notable high-flying acts. Currently in demand, sessioning with Joe Jammer and others, George jumped at the chance to play, write, and create with Fred and Jon.

Jon Steele With 30 years of experience behind the drum kit, being a steady face of the London music scene and having seen some critical acclaim with State River Widening, now holds down the thunderous rhythm for the band after Fred saw him playing at one of the city’s more illustrious jam sessions.

For many years they walked separately on the underground scene and now they come together as The Fred Pala Band, a new reference in rock n roll.

Description:

The Fred Pala Band has just released ‘Through a London Window’. Although this is the fourth album from Fred Pala, it is the first to be recorded by The Fred Pala Band, totally analog, live in the studio, and straight to the tape, using the same gear that helped create the magic vibe and iconic tones from the golden age of rock n roll. And none of that magic is lost here.

Engineered by Ed Deegan, who has worked with such great artists as Mungo Jerry and Mike Chapman, this E.P captures the remarkable fusion of the talents of three passionate and highly regarded blues lovers - Fred Pala’s soaring vocals and burning hot guitar; George Smith’s psychedelic counterpoint bass; and Jon Steele’s thundering yet rhythmically poignant drumming.

This is an album that portrays the harsh times we're facing, and all of the musical hallmarks expected by rock fans and blues fans alike can be found within every track of this record.

It definitely comes as fresh air to put a new spin on old favorites.

‘Through a London Window’ is available for digital download through all your favorite streaming services.
