SIGGI FASSL
By cruising around in the clubs in Vienna, he discovered the Blues "life" by listening to Al Cooke & Erik Trauner. At age 19 he had his first stage &appearance & 2 years later he became the lead singer of the Rockability band "The Torpedos". Besides playing as a soloist where he can show his great talent as a Country Blues artist, he is also a wonderful performer as a band musician. His own Blues band, "Hooked On Blues", was founded in 1988. In 1992, "Hooked On Blues" released their album, "I Have To Stop" for Wolf Records which features Magic Slim, Nick Holt & John Primer as guest stars. In 1992, he joined the country band, "Kentucky Calling" & in 1997 he was a member of the "Honky Tonk Playboys". He played with international blues legends such as Louisiana Red, Big Jay McNeely, Magic Slim, Eddie Van Shaw, etc. You can also hear him as a session musician on numerous recordings with Al Cooke, Johnny & the Credit Cards, or the Jive Giants.
Siggi's sensitivity & emotion that he puts into his music always captures the crowd. Performing on stage, he Is never without a smile on his face.
His idols, just to name a few who influenced his musical development, are Lighting Hopkins, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Muddy Waters & B. B. King. You can also hear some of Hank Williams & Jerry Lee Lewis in his music. Erik invited Siggi to joined the Mojo Blues Band at the beginning of 2002.
