Ben Andrews is a guitarist and song writer from Louisville, KY and currently lives in Providence, RI. Ben also loves playing with tape recorders almost (but not quite) as much as playing music.
Ben’s main influences as a guitarist are Keith Richards and Django Reinhardt.
Other important guitar influences are Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Charlie Christian, Buddy Holly, Freddy Green, Carlos Santana, Ry Cooder, Duane Allman & Dickey Betts and a many more.
Song writers and composers Ben is drawn to are John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison of the Beatles, Ray Davies of the Kinks, Henry Mancini, Chuck Berry, Willie Nelson, John Prine, J. S. Bach, folk music from Kentucky, Scotland and Ireland, and Jagger/Richards of the Rolling Stones.
Along with partner Sam Gray, Ben ran Ramcat Sound Productions from 1994-2002 in Louisville, KY. He has continued to record as Ben Andrews Recording. Ben’s main producer influences are Les Paul, George Martin and Jimmy Page. Lately he has been working with Blues guitarist Duke Robillard.
In addition, Ben organizes the Django Jamboree, an annual music festival of Django Reinhardt held in Louisville, KY that includes master classes, jam sessions and a concert with the headliners as teachers.
