ASHTON SAVOY

 

Ashton Savoy (born 1928, Sunset, Louisiana, USA - died May 15, 2009) was an American blues singer and guitarist. Savoy gravitated towards the blues as a teen, and was a long time fixture of the Houston, Texas blues scene, though he never quite shed his down-home Creole sound. A skilled guitarist and singer he easily mixed elements of Chicago and Texas styled blues music with the influences of his native Louisiana.
