PEANUT THE KIDNAPPER
James Sherrill was probably a singer from the Birmingham, AL. area. No one really knows why he adopted the "Peanut The Kidnapper" moniker for his recordings. In two sessions supervised by W.R. Calaway in the spring of 1937, he recorded four songs backed by the Birmingham pianist Robert McCoy, a protege of Lucille Bogan.
