BLUES BLAST * MUSIC AWARDS * - THE 16Th ANNUAL -

 

Each year a group of industry professionals select the nominees for our annual Blues Blast Music Awards. Then fans all over the world vote for their favorites in each of the twenty three nomination categories. The results of this years 16th annual Blues Blast Music Awards, voted on by more than 6,600 Blues fans, will be announced at the Blues Blast Music Award Ceremonies on September 23rd.

As the magazine publisher, I do not have input into that awards process. However, each year it is my privilage and pleasure to be able to select the recipients of Blues Blast Magazine's Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Some of the outstanding individuals we have honored over the years include Koko Taylor, Honeyboy Edwards, Eddy “The Chief” Clearwater, Jimmy Johnson, Eddie Shaw, Henry Gray, Lonnie Brooks, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Bobby Rush, Bob Koester (Delmark Records), Michael Frank (Earwig Records) and Bruce Iglauer (Alligator Records).

This year I am proud to have the honor of recognizing three amazing musicians as this years recipients, Bob Stroger, Bob Margolin and John Primer. Information on the accomplishments of these distinguished individuals follows below.

Mr. Stroger, Mr. Margolin and Mr. Primer will all be attending the Blues Blast Music Awards Ceremonies on September 23rd, at the 3300 Event Center in Peoria, Illinois to receive their awards.
