NICK WADE * FEELING GOOD IS GOOD ENOUGH *
“Nick Wade is a young cat with an old sound. You hear it not just in his guitar playing which is definitely expert, but also in his voice which is real, and true and deeply appealing. The old acoustic blues feels good in his hands , and sounds great on his tongue. I really dig the way he tunes his gitfiddle down low, so he can find all of the lowdown grit and bendy notes. If I had to describe his musical delivery in one phrase, it would be “rich and organic”. To misquote Woody Guthrie, Nick has “reborned” himself. His love of the old dust-covered black blues is genuine and authentic. Keep your eyes and ears on this cat.”

“Coming from a musical family, master guitarist Nick Wade continues in the tradition with this strong outing of classic and original acoustic blues. His sincere dedication to the history, heritage, spirit and the truth of the blues is both uniquely impressive and what’s needed in this world today.”
— COREY HARRIS
Nick Wade
Nick Wade's journey as a musician began 32 years ago, when he took his first lesson at five years old. Teaching him was his grandfather, Johnny Wade, a professional jazz musician who played with Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Freddie Slack, and many others. Johnny could play well over ten wind instruments, including the harmonica and piano.
Nick still recalls that first lesson from his grandpa. "My grandpa showed me how to hold the trainer flute, he played a short melody, and I played it right back to him." This impressed Wade’s grandfather. The elder Wade would visit once or twice a year, give a short lesson, and leave practice material; however, Nick never showed much interest. It wasn’t until the age of 22, that Nick finally got serious about music. He quickly taught himself the guitar and began playing Chicago-style electric blues, but it would be the music of bluesman Robert Johnson that became the catalyst for a total dedication to country blues and spiritual music.
Following Nick’s devotion to musical study and the honing of his skills, he received an invite to play at the legendary Bentonia Blues Festival in Bentonia, Mississippi. Soon thereafter, this was followed by attention from record labels and different people from the entertainment industry.
Today, Nick performs with notable musicians, and festivals in addition to operating a virtual music venue called "Overall Junction" which brings together the biggest names in country blues. Nick is also working on his debut album, to be released in 2023.
Nick is a humble man who credits Christ, who he describes as his creator, for giving him “a good ear and rhythm in his soul” and his mother and grandpa for their musical training when he was a child.
