Cold leftovers was all I ever got
Last for the showers, there was never any hot
Never drove a new car fresh off the lot
Seems someone's had a turn with everything I've got

All I own
Been owned before
You can find me down
At the secondhand store

Growin' up we never had
Much of anything
All the kids talkin' about
what Santa might bring
My folks got me a bike
I thought they were goin' soft
But then I seen the serial number
Been scratched off

All I own
Been owned before
You can find me down
At the secondhand store

Well I wrecked a car
Back when I was a kid
They thought I was gonna die,
And I almost did
The doctors topped me off, with some blood from a donor
Even the blood in my veins had a previous owner

All I own
Been owned before
You can find me down
At the secondhand store

My wife, she got me a suit
Fine Italian silk
I said Damn, where'd get this baby, must have run you quite a bill!
She said "Don't worry daddy, I got this down at the funeral home"
The man that had it on 'I'm
Won't need it where he's goin'"

All I own
Been owned before
You can find me down
At the secondhand store

I met a Buddhist monk
Walking by the shore
He said  "Son you got an old soul"
I can tell you've lived before
He told me we're born to suffer
It's all in the design,
And I walked away thinking damn
Even these blues ain't mine

All I own
Been owned before
You can find me down
At the secondhand store

You know my favorite shirt
Only cost me a dollar
But don't you know it had another man's name on the collar
Second-hand pants, second-hand sweaters
Hell, my wife, she had a ring on when I met her
