JIMI LEE grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. When JIMI was a teenager he opened shows for giants: Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker and Bobby Blue Bland. In his twenties, JIMI played harmonica for legends: Willie Nelson, Stephen Stills, Clarence Clemens, Pinetop Perkins and others. He spent 12 years in Hawaii captivating Audiences from around the world and was voted “Best in the state” by the Hawaiian Blues Society.
After relocating to Austin Texas JIMI LEE won First Place at the annual Austin blues competition. He became the first artist to represent Austin Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. JIMI LEE went on to win the Semi-Finals for Austin and compete at the famous Orpheum Theatre as one of the top eight Blues acts in the world; “The Best of the Best”, as the Blues Foundation puts it.
At the annual Austin Songwriters Group (ASG) awards, JIMI LEE won First Place in Blues three times; once with his song, “Pocket Full Of Soul”, another First Place with “Laundromat” and the third win with “Where Are You Tonight”. JIMI also won Third Place in Blues Rock with his song, “Cheap Thrills”.
JIMI LEE shares USA endorsements for Seydel Harmonicas with harmonica masters: James Cotton, Lazy Lester and Charlie Musselwhite. He also endorses Lone Wolf Blues Company harmonica pedals and Blows Me Away Production harmonica microphones.
For JIMI, music is about connecting with people, whether he's singing one of his great Sinatra Swing arrangements, one of his award winning Blues, or his version of some legendary Classic Rock song, he wants his audience to feel what he is feeling.
Back on Maui Jimi Lee dedicates his life to bringing Love and Live Music to people from all over the world.
