❝ I was in an Uber when I heard the chord progression of “Rain “streaming through the speakers. I asked the Uber driver what song it was, I must have played it 1000 times. “Rain” is about war. Being born in a war-torn country and having the United States government bring me to America (Operation Baby Lift ), to have a “better life” after losing your family likely because of the American occupation in Vietnam, is complicated in my head. In tandem with war, “Rain” addresses this current “How to be happy” drum beat. It’s not realistic to be happy all the time. Sometimes you gotta just let it rain and that’s ok. The 50-year fall of Saigon is 2025.

This song features Austin, Texas musicians: Chris Tondre and David Jimenez on guitar, as well as “Band of Heathens” members, Trevor Nealon, on keys, Nick Jay on the bass, and Clint Simmons on drums.❞ -- Lara Price
