JODIE CASH * ETERNITY * - Single
Daughter of professional Southern Rock and Country musicians, well known for their group ‘Los Bombarderos’ during the 80s and 90s, Jodie always intuited that she would also dedicate her life to music. Although in her childhood she was very shy to sing in front of anyone, her connection with music was undeniable, accompanying her parents singing classics like ‘Mama’s don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys’ by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. At the age of seven, she began to sing at family parties, inspired by the music that filled her home. She fondly remembers how the song ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’ by the Charlie Daniels Band, performed by Lynn Anderson, led her to take solfeggio and violin lessons, captivated by the ‘diabolical’ sound of the instrument.Over time, her passion for music led her to explore different styles and projects. From her beginnings in the school music combo, where she paid homage to soul divas like Etta James, to her participation in groups like ‘The Old Weekend Band’ (2011) and ‘The Randles’ (2013), Jodie demonstrated her versatility and talent on stage, as well as gaining experience.During her time with ‘The Randles’, she recorded her first album, a two-song EP: ‘Kill My Baby’ by Nick Curran and ‘Survivors’, from which they later released a music video. Her stint with the female group ‘The Sparkles’, a female musical trio in the best tradition of 60s American Doo Wop and R&B bands, added a new dimension to her career, demonstrating her versatility on the album ‘Girls Are Messin’ Up My Mind’, recorded in 2015.The release of her first personal project, ‘Jodie Cash Fingers’, marked a milestone in her career. Her debut album, ‘Rollin’ Swingin» (2016), was not only well received by the public, but also received praise from renowned industry critics. Specialized press such as ‘Ruta 66’ or ‘Popular 1’ praised her work, giving it an outstanding rating of 8 out of 10. With the debut album, she established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music scene, blending influences from classic rock & roll, country, instrumental surf, and rancheras while establishing her distinctive mark in the industry.During an intense tour of Europe, they presented the album in iconic venues such as Apolo’s room 2 or Razzmatazz’s room 3 in Barcelona. At the beginning of 2020, she released three singles: ‘Umbral’, ‘Rock Machine’, and ‘Huella’ (the latter edited under the Gateway Records (Nashville) record label). During a summer full of concerts and tours, alternating work and recording of a new album, she released the live album: ‘Sherman Trail Live At El Búho Vol. I’.Her album ‘Mil Noches’ (2021) denotes a change in her career as it is the first in Spanish. It consists of nine original compositions and an adaptation of the legendary song ‘Take it easy’ by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey, popularized by The Eagles under the name ‘Siempre libre (Take it easy)’. This album represents a journey through roots music in all its facets: from rock, country, and blues to some nuances of flamenco, rancheras, and pop/rock. With wind arrangements, guitar riffs, and sweet melodies, ‘Mil Noches’ showcases Jodie’s versatility as an artist and the richness of her voice in a production that received a warm reception from both the public and the music press. She was awarded the Best National American Music Artist prize by the Spanish Line Dance Association (2018), and was nominated again in subsequent years, including in the new ‘Worldwide’ category, alongside international artists.Recently, Jodie released the compilation EP ‘Before My Senses’ (2023), a collection of her most recent singles, paving the way for her upcoming project ‘My Senses’ which will take her back to her roots: country, rock & roll, and blues. With this album, scheduled for release in 2024, Jodie aims to explore new musical dimensions and reconnect with her inner self. It promises to be the artist’s most personal album to date.
