Jeffery Broussard & The Nighttime Syndicate * Bayou Moonlight *
Jeffery Broussard
Jeffery is the son of the esteemed accordionist Delton Broussard. Jeffery Broussard and Robbie Robinson founded Zydeco Force in the late 1980s, a band who was at the forefront of the nouveau zydeco movement. Jeffery's accordion and vocals defined the nouveau style of Creole music. He incorporated the soulful sounds of R&B into contemporary zydeco music and dance.
Within the Zydeco musical community, the bilingual Jeffery Broussard is renowned for his skillful use of the accordion and the fiddle. From the depths of despair in the bluesy tracks to giving you the time of your life in the party tracks, Jeffery Broussard knows how to impart emotion to his crowds.
Nighttime Syndicate
The Nighttime Syndicate
The nighttime syndicate horns hail from the tradition of New Orleans modern brass band. They have played countless parades and Sunday second lines. Arranged by Edward Jackson of renowned TBC Brass Band, the horn lines complement Jeffery's music energetically and beautifully.
The band's rhythm section, emerging from the local Swing dance scene, establishes a groove that is lively and engaging. As Jeffery best said it: “Y'all sound different but fun and danceable. I love it!”.
Collectively, Jeffery Broussard & The Nighttime Syndicate ignites a musical conversation between Zydeco and New Orleans music that is definitely unique to Southern Louisiana.
