Charles Tiner, also known as N'Treble, a soulful blues artist with roots in gospel music. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Tiner's love for singing and playing the piano began at the age of 5. With a strong foundation in gospel music, Tiner was able to easily transition into the blues genre,
Tiner's father, a Baptist pastor, moved the family to Springfield, Illinois where Tiner and his older brother served as church musicians. Tiner's love for the arts was further nurtured through participation in musicals, plays and other community activities.
Tiner went on to further his education in St. Louis, Missouri, earning an associates degree in criminal justice and a bachelor's in theology. Throughout his career, Tiner has had the opportunity to sing with several bands as the lead singer and front man while playing the keys.
He has also written multiple songs and performed them abroad.
In February 2021, Tiner self-produced his freshenan CD, entitled N'Treble, which features a variety of influences in gospel, jazz, funk, and blues. The CD was written and arranged by Tiner himself.
In May 2022, Tiner represented the Illinois Central Blues Club in the International Blues Challenge and was a finalist in the single/duo category. Additionally, Tiner's CD was chosen as a finalist in the BEST SELF PRODUCED CD category.
Tiner's IBC performance can be viewed on YouTube. He was also selected as one of six artists in the world to be featured in the August 2022 edition of BLUESBLAST Magazine.
Tiner's high-energy performances captivate audiences of all ages and his soulful style allows him to connect with his audiences on a personal level.
